SmartBank provides the opportunity of identifying subtle associations between the stored metadata – using integrative analytics. This is what really differentiates a biobank from a sample repository.

Filtering

The wealth of information contained in the biobank can be utilized through a complex data filtering system, based on arbitrary criteria. Filtering results are arranged and displayed in sets and subsets, creating a base for advanced statistical calculations.

Descriptive statistics

Descriptive statistics are used to present quantitative descriptions in a manageable form, allowing the researcher to arrange large amounts of data in a sensible way. SmartBank performs the calculation and visualization of indicators (which characterize measures of location or central tendency and measures of spread).

Relationship between variables

The strength of a relationship can be quantifiable by indicators. SmartBank employs a range of indicators, they are chosen depending on the type of data and variables involved.

Hypothesis testing

Hypotheses can be formulated based on the outputs of descriptive statistics and relationship indicators. Statistical probes can detect significant differences between previously defined groups – helping the researcher to verify or reject a hypothesis.

Visualization

SmartBank provides unparalleled data visualization capabilities. Once you get to the data you were looking for, you can create tables and charts at the touch of a button – greatly enhancing the clarity and quality of your reports.
