Bioinformatics Software Specialist

DESCRIPTION:

Astrid is one of the largest, privately held bioinformatics companies in Europe with offices in Austria and Hungary. We develop tools for the discovery of genetic variation and the analysis of its biological significance.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to contribute to the data analysis of genomic data sets and related software development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analysis of sequencing data
• Developing software tools and scripts for data analysis.
• Communication with clients

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of related experience
• MSc or higher degree in IT or related field
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting
• Proficiency in Perl and/or Python, R, Bioconductor
• Good understanding of applied statistics

PREFERENCES:

• Experience in service industry
• Java and/or C++ programming skills
